The driest walls you’ve ever seen

Day 117

When you’re waiting to complete a renovation before you move into your new house, it seems to take forever and a day. For the past month we’ve been drywalling and plastering, and plastering and drywalling, and it feels like nothing’s been happening since every day things look almost the same.

Soon to be our new kitchen.

We’re really close to having the first and second floor finished, which means that sanding will start shortly. Once that’s done we can:

  • tile the bathrooms
  • install toilets and vanities
  • install all the doors
  • put up the mouldings
  • paint
  • install the floor
  • install the kitchen
  • tile the backsplash
  • finish the electrical
  • move in

It’s still an extensive list so our original plan to move in by November 1st has gone the way of the dodo. Halloween is officially cancelled!

Fingers crossed that we’re in by December so I don’t have to officially cancel my birthday.

I built a half-wall at the top of the stairs. Woot!
